The MENA region is booming with new projects from city expansion to hospitality and residential buildings. The increased number of construction projects across the industries that spiked after the successful bid for Dubai Expo 2020 and Qatar World Cup 2022 escalated the demand for architectural services and designs.

In order to understand the market demands and the specific requirements from the clients in the region, over 150 Industry leaders from the top companies world-wide convened in Dubai at the two-day Leaders in Architecture MENA Summit on April 20-21, hosted by International Business Council. The event addressed important issues From the City Expansion to New Cities Design, Future Trends in Hospitality Architecture, and Secrets behind Building a Successful Architectural Firm. Some notable guests were from Gensler, Woods Baggot, Atkins, RMJM International, Cannon Design International and DLR Group.

Ian Apsley, Main Board Director of Broadway Maylan stated "It’s interesting to have a forum to meet purely as architects. There are a lot of events in this region where you engage with real estate professionals and engineers, but to meet as a group of architects and share stories is very valuable.”

"It gives some of the senior people and design professionals the opportunity to actually interact more with each other and look at their mutual interest and look at how they as a group can contribute to the development of the region.” Michael Fowler, Managing Director Middle East Aedas stated of the event.
